After the domestic disappointment, Kutlwano women's team coach Isaac Samuel has vowed to retain the Africa Zone VI Volleyball Club Championships which start today in Windhoek, Namibia. The competition ends on December 1.

Samuel's side lost the domestic title to rivals, Mafolofolo last weekend and are determined to put the disappointment behind as they focus on the regional competition.

He said their preparations have gone well and even trained indoors as most international competitions are held in such venues.  Samuel said both Kutlwano teams (men and women) intend to win the championships. However, Kutlwano would be wary of local rivals, Mafolofolo's presence at the tournament even though the new champions did not travel with some of their finest players. The rivals are expected to take their fight to Namibia and Samuel said his side is not intimidated.  Botswana will be represented by Kutlwano, Mafolofolo and Kalavango in the women's bracket, while Kutlwano, BDF VI and Diphatsa are the men's teams. The six teams were chosen based on their position in the BMW Capital Motors tournament. Although Botswana has been sending more than two teams to the competition this is the first time the country has six representatives.
