Kgabosetso recalls their messiah

Towards the end of the 2006-2007 First Division South league season, Moshupa-based Kgabosetso Southern Callies found themselves lying in the relegation zone with only three points and four games to go.

In desperation, they called in a relatively unknown coach in Botshelo 'Observer' Pelokgosi to rescue their season which many had concluded was over. Peolokgosi knew the job at hand could be too heavy for his 'small' shoulders but he was brave enough to accept the challenge. Contrary to expectations, he succeeded and helped the team to avoid relegation.

Despite the commendable and near impossible feat, he was soon shown the door by Kgabosetso. He joined Gaborone-based Young Strikers where once again, he achieved a rare feat turning the fortunes of the club around. He transformed the club from minnows to giant killers and finished the 2007-2008 season at position five. He beat title challengers Mochudi Buffaloes in their own background and virtually killed Prisons XI title challenge with a 4-2 drubbing. This is despite the fact that Young Strikers have players of average ability and experience. As Pelokgosi was making waves with Young Strikers, a different scenario was obtaining in Moshupa. Kgabosetso were struggling and avoided relegation by a whisker.
