Kalavango volleyball club treasurer Gabotswelele 'Puni' Mosanana will be laid to rest in Kanye tomorrow.

She was one of the five people who died when the Ford Laser they were travelling in collided with a Toyota 4X4 vehicle at Monogeng Lands 10km from Artesia last weekend. The 39-year-old Mosanana died with her son, two cousins and another female.

Mosanana started playing volleyball in the 1980s when she was a student at St Joseph's College. Volleyball colleagues remember her as a jovial, humble and hard working person. Her Kalavango club-mate, Patricia Rametsana says Mosanana was an ever-smiling person. Rametsana will always remember how her departed friend cried after her side lost in a final in 1990. She said Mosanana was a very committed player who always inspired her teammates. "She was the pillar of the team. We will miss her," Rametsana said.
