Jwaneng continues bowls dominance

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Jwaneng A bowling team continued to dominate with a fifth title in six competitions when they bagged the 2011 Botsogo Tuli Trophy in Selebi-Phikwe over the weekend.

The team comprised of Remy Kebapetse (skip), Joshua Mothusi (3rd), Mpopi Pelemo (2nd) and Marks Mantsima (lead). The hosts, Selebi-Phikwe came second position.

The team was made of Ray Mascarenhas (skip) Lebo Mascarenhas (3rd), John Gaborutwe (2nd) and Binkie Gaborutwe (lead). To prove its strength, Jwaneng's B was third. Botsogo Health Plan sponsored the tournament for  P20, 000. Speaking after the tournament, Botsogo Health Plan General Manager, Lesego Pule said the popularity of bowling was growing. He said his company started supporting bowling in 2007 and has never looked back since then. Pule noted that minority codes need the backing of the corporate world in order to grow.
