Nothing much happened this year in netball. The game continues to lose spectators as playing standards decline. The national Under-21 team participated in World Youth Championships in Cook Island, Australia, where they performed below par finishing 18th out of 20 countries. The senior team finished third out of six countries in the Confederation of Southern African Netball Associations (COSANA) Zone VI Championships. 

Volleyball
After several promises, the Botswana Volleyball Federation (BVF) failed to run the national league that was abandoned years ago. The BVF had announced that it had found a sponsor for the league but negotiations were somehow protracted, which put paid to any hopes of league action.
