The Zebras failed to secure any friendly match with other African teams before the start of their 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, and settled to play former Asian champions Iraq, as it was the only available option.  Botswana Football Association (BFA) technical director, Tlhagiso Sethibe revealed this at a media conference yesterday ahead of the team's departure to Istanbul, Turkey, where the Iraqis lie in wait.

Zebras will play 72nd ranked Iraq tomorrow  and proceed to Bangui, Central Africa Republic (CAR) for their first leg match of the qualifiers to be played on June 2. Sethibe said they would have loved to play some tougher opponents from within the continent, but that was not possible due to travel, finaincial and other logistical problems.
