It is still early in the year, but not too early for boxers to start trading punches, which should be the order of the day at the Sir Seretse Khama Barracks (SSKB) recreation hall tomorrow.

The inter-club tournament will officially kick start the Botswana Boxing Association (BoBA) 2013 calendar. The tournament marks the beginning of the 17 events in the inter-club series that are qualifiers for the Keone Mooka Mageu national championships to be held towards the end of the year. BoBA publicity and information secretary, Willoughby Kemoen told Mmegi Sport in an interview yesterday that they have completed drawing up their calendar of events and it would get underway tomorrow with the inter-club series.

He said they have communicated with all their affiliates and are therefore expecting a good turnout. He said clubs know the importance of the event in the run-up to the grand finale. Kemoen said the association is leaving no stone unturned to stage the Best of the Best tournament that was not held last year. The tournament, usually the last event of the year was postponed twice last year.
