IndoPak Dosti Cup 2012 to be held

The IndoPak Dosti Cup 2012 will take place today at the Gaborone Cricket Club. Both cricketers of Indian and Pakistani origin living in Botswana will play the match.

As far as cricket is concerned, cricket is a popular sport loved by people from both countries. A historic rivalry is carried forward between both the nations for years by the international teams and its fans. For these cricket lovers, a game between India and Pakistan is regarded as ultimate competition. Last year, a group of young cricket enthusiasts in Gaborone and very close friends from India and Pakistan organised a small, private cricket match which they dubbed the "IndoPak Dosti Cup." It turned out to be a huge success which also served as a fun filled event for the whole family to enjoy.

Continuing on with this  momentum, this year the organisers; Kashif Amin, Asim  Siddiqui, Karan Kapoor and Mohsin Ashfaq,  decided to make it an annual event and do it on a larger scale by opening the door  to sponsors and spectators.Companies like Affordable Tyres, MW Packaging, Medicos Pharmacy, Olympian Sports, Total Home and Master Print came forward in support. Now, the event has unfolded into much more of a fanfare that will not only have a cricket match for the sports' lovers to enjoy, but there will also be food, snack stalls and jumping castles for children.The IndoPak Dosti Cup 2012  will begin at 4:00pm today.
