Independence Day softball qualifiers take place this weekend

Clubs from the south do battle in Gaborone this weekend as their northern counterparts fight in Francisown for a place in the Barloworld Independence Cup softball final scheduled for Jwaneng over the Independence Day holiday.

The competition is restricted to men with the women participating in the BP Challenge during the Independence Day holiday.

The Barloworld qualifiers take place at the National Diamond in Gaborone and at least 12 clubs from the south are expected to slug it out for three places in the final. Botswana Softball Association (BSA) spokesperson Kabelo Kwape said the qualifiers will be open to all clubs.
