National champions, Mochudi Centre Chiefs were merciless when they destroyed Wonder Sporting 6-0 in the Coca-Cola Cup round of 16 at the UB Stadium on Saturday.

Wonder which boasted before the game that they will bring Magosi down to earth, matched their opponents early on. The First Division outfit was not scared of pushing forward and this made the handful of their supporters happy.

But Chiefs opened the floodgates in the 28th minute when Jabu Pilane headed home a beautiful cross from Tshepo Motlhabankwe. Wonder goalkeeper Abram 'Umaga' Mautla deserves the blame for not coming off his line to cut the cross. Chiefs pushed forward and captain Pontsho 'Piro' Moloi saw his effort flying over the bar in the 31st minute. Seven minutes later, Pilane completed his brace when he pounced from close range after Wonder's rearguard failed to make a simple clearance. Magosi continued to push forward and it did not come as a surprise in the 44th minute when Mpho 'Jomo' Mabogo capitalised on some poor defending to make it 3-0. At the break, Chiefs' supporters were a marvel to watch with their songs and dance.
