Embattled Botswana Football Association (BFA) vice president (administration), Tariq Babitseng has said he is not a criminal following his latest suspension on accusations of mishandling funds.

This the second time Babitseng has been suspended this year over such allegations. But in an exclusive interview with Mmegi Sport yesterday, he said his name is unnecessarily being dragged in the mud by his detractors.

“The media has been fed one side of the story with a calculated move to tarnish my image. I am not a criminal. I have never been criminally charged and God willing, I will never be. I have been told there is an issue with the handling of funds. It is not clear if it is misuse or abuse of funds. I am yet to be guided on how I should have handled the funds,” Babitseng said yesterday.
