Hunda blasts rowdy supporters

BMC coach Clever Hunda has lashed out at some of the team's rowdy supporters who he accused of bringing instability to the team and putting unnecessary pressure on the players.

The Zimbabwean coach says his players have been the targets of verbal abuse from some quarters of the team's followers and that the whole thing seems to have affected them psychologically.

The BMC supporters call themselves 'Matutsi' because of their small number but they are extremely passionate about their team. But Hunda believes they have to mend their ways or risk creating chaos for the team. "Those people who find it difficult to keep their insults to themselves should not come to the ground because they make my players nervous. These people do not just shout at my players, they actually hurl insults at them and they cannot concentrate," Hunda said. Ezinkomo coach said he is concerned about crowd behaviour as they prepare to host ECCO City Greens in Lobatse tomorrow, in a crucial encounter that could either help them survive relegation or sink. "It is like a cup final to us. We can no longer afford any slip ups. We ought to win this match at all costs. I know ECCO are coming here for maximum points as well and they would not be easy to overcome but we have what it takes. But I am concerned about the fans shouting at players especially that we are playing at home," Hunda said. Hunda appealed for calm as he tries to stir the Ezinkomo ship through the troubled waters to a safe place. "It is times like these that we need all the support and we need not to be intimidated. The players are already under pressure thinking about the possibility of relegation and I have tried to ease the problem by telling them to just take it easy and enjoy their game but there is a third force now," he said.
