Hotspurs divide league committee over ruling

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Mahalapye Hotspurs' failure to abide by a Disciplinary Committee ruling has left First Division North officials divided.

The committee found Hotspurs guilty of failure to honour a fixture against Maun Tigers and fined the club P2, 000 in January.

The fine was to be paid in 30 days, failing which six points was to be deducted at the end of the season. Hotspurs reportedly failed to meet the deadline and six points must now be deducted. It is said that First Division North chairperson, Eatametse Olopeng tried to force the committee to accept P2,000 in June claiming it was payment from Hotspurs despite the fact that the deadline for payment had elapsed.
