Gutsy BMC frustrate Chiefs

Title-chasing Mochudi Centre Chiefs left Molepolole Sports Complex frustrated after a gallant fight by BMC saw them drop two valuable points in a 0-0 draw.

It was a major setback for Centre Chiefs as their rivals, Township Rollers, on the other hand, hammered ECCO 5-0 in Francistown. Magosi went into the match charged up following their 9-0 whitewashing of minnows, Kanye Swallows, in the Coca-Cola Cup the previous week, but saw their title aspirations take a nasty turn. BMC came to the match as underdogs and an early attempt by their former player, Joel Mogorosi, in the third minute nearly spoilt things for them. Another dangerous attack from the Katleng giants saw Kekaetswe Moloi hit the target two minutes later, but Cosmos Lombala managed to avert disaster, fisting the ball away for a corner.

But BMC recovered quickly from the early onslaught and started to compete for ball possession effectively.Towering Alex Matshameko played a pivotal role in BMC closing down Moloi while new recruit Thato Motlhatlhobi also proved his mettle against top goalscorer, Moemedi Moatlhaping.
