Extension Gunners are geared up for their CAF Confederations Cup match against Malagasy side, Tana Formation at the UB Stadium tomorrow night.

Kick-off is at 7pm. Mapantsula host the Indian Ocean islanders in the first leg match of the preliminary round before travelling to Madagascar in a fortnights time.

Gunners spokesperson, Abdul Kgengwenyane said preparations for the tie have been going well for over a month now since the squad regrouped in early January. He said despite losing some key players in the January transfer window, they have moved swiftly to make suitable replacements and is optimistic that the new signings will fit well into the team. Gunners lost promising youngsters Kgololo Leteane and Hendrick Moyo to Gaborone United (GU) and town rivals, BMC, respectively. The two attackers were instrumental in the team qualifying for the continental club competition when they helped Gunners clinch the last edition of the Coca-Cola Cup. Kgengwenyane admitted the departure of the two had left a void, but was positive that their replacements would fare well. Another youngster, Jacob Kapara has been roped in as a replacement for striker Moyo, while Joseph Keimetswe has been promoted from the reserves to fill in the void left by Leteane on the wing. According to Kgengwenyane a plus for Keimetswe is that he can operate the entire wing length as he defends equally well.
