Mochudi Centre Chiefs' coach, Rahman Gumbo has decamped to FC Platinum in his native Zimbabwe. Platinum chairman, Thadson Zhou has confirmed Gumbo's arrival saying that the coach will boost their title aspirations in the Castle Premier League.

"We regard him as one of the best coaches in the world and we hope he is going to get the results for us in our quest to win the championship. It is not a secret that we want to win the championship," Zhou said. Gumbo told a Zimbabwean publication that he was excited about his return home. "It feels good to be back home after such a long time. I have a challenge ahead of me and I like challenges," he said. Gumbo has signed a three-year deal at Platinum. He will be assisted by former Mogoditshane Fighters' coach, Philani Mabhena, who has been acting in the position after the death of Benjamin Moyo on April 22. The departed tactician is a son of TAFIC coach, Paul Moyo. Gumbo achieved fame in Botswana when he led Township Rollers to a league and cup double before crossing over to bitter rivals, Chiefs.

So far, Chiefs' officials are not aware of his move to Platinum although they suspect he will not return. The officials say they got suspicious when they found his apartment in Maru-A-Pula's Universal Estates empty. Chiefs' communications manager, Clifford Mogomotsi, said Gumbo had not yet communicated with them since the last game of the season.
