Gaborone United (GU) start their title defence when they take on cross-town rivals Notwane in the 2009-2010 be MOBILE Premier League opener under the floodlights at the Molepolole Sports Stadium tonight

Kick off is at 7pm. The defending champions start the campaign fresh from a dispute over player bonuses. Hence the technical team has to ensure that the players are in the right frame of mind to tackle their city rivals. As was the case with Mochudi Centre Chiefs in the past season, the pressure will be on the Reds to see if they will defend their title.

Tonight's performance against unpredictable Toronto might be used as a barometer to gauge whether GU are up to the task. When they trot to the field, the Reds will line up with almost 11 players who were part of the title-winning squad last season. Both sides have not played any competitive game in preparation for the opener.
