GU players threaten revolt over 'paltry' bonuses

Gaborone United (GU) players are reportedly disgruntled over the amount of bonuses they were given for winning the Premier League.

It is understood the players have threatened to boycott training for the new season. The Reds pocketed P1 million for winning the be MOBILE Premier League title but the players now say they have not been rewarded accordingly.

GU allegedly gave top players P6,000 each and lesser ones P2,000 each as bonus for winning the title. A displeased senior GU player told Mmegi Sport that when they were fighting for the title, they asked for P20,000 each as a winning bonus but they were told to focus on the battle first and talk about pay after the end of the season.
