GU officials see bright future

"Running a team is not an easy thing and we do not know how others manage. But we will try our best." This is the message from newly-elected Gaborone United (GU) chairman Fedelis Nkomazana.

Accompanied by four of his officials, Babatshe Phaphane (vice-chairman), Kagiso Sebele (secretary), Losika Seboni (communications officer) and Malebogo Keetsaletse (assistant communications officer), Nkomazana vowed that they are going to work tirelessly to re-brand the club so that it can start competing with other giants like Mochudi Centre Chiefs, Township Rollers and Notwane.

After years of struggle, GU launched a serious campaign in the league, which saw them finishing second behind Chiefs during the 2007-2008 season. Under the tutelage of Zambian coach, Mike Sithole, the Reds have seen a revival of soccer fortunes. To show their intention to fight for silverware this season, GU has added some quality players to their squad.
