GU gears for taxing Champions League campaign

Be MOBILE Premier League champions, Gaborone United (GU) are gearing for what should be a taxing CAF Champions League campaign next year.

GU public relations officer, Losika 'Luzboy' Seboni said the club is ready to venture into the rugged African terrain which has proved financially taxing for most clubs in the continent. He said GU will appeal to supporters and the corporate world for financial assistance. "We do not expect to use a lot of money in the preliminary rounds as we would play a regional team. It would be expensive in the qualifying rounds when we play opponents from outside the region," Seboni said.

He said GU is yet to know how much the Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC) has budgeted for the club's participation in the Champions League.
