Gaborone United (GU) have appointed Zimbabwean Jethro Hunidzarira as head coach until the end of the season. The appointment comes after GU parted ways with another Zimbabwean coach Luke Masomere.

Hunidzarira will be assisted by former players Chandi Moruti and Marco Tshuma. The Zimbabwean mentor joins the Reds after spending a year at Naughty Boys in Tlokweng.

GU chairman, Kelesitse Gilika said that they wanted somebody who understands Botswana football. "We settled for him after doing a lot of research. He starts work today," said the GU chairman. He pointed out that Hunidzarira was the best among the candidates interviewed by the GU management. Gilika told Mmegi Sport that they will give their new tactician the necessary support and they have confidence that he will do a good job.
