Granger wins Northern Golf Open

Granger dethroned Diane Lucas, the four times champion who had raced to an early lead with Podise on the first day with 76 scores apiece. But the fortunes of Lucas changed on the second day when he continually hit obstructions on the browns. He was eventually reduced to a spectator as Granger, Frost and Podise went to the play-offs to determine the winner.
The three players were forced into the nail-biting play-offs after they tied on 147 over 36 holes. Granger emerged the best in the decider followed by Frost and Podise. The determining hole was the 17th after the closely contested 10th and 14th holes. At the 14th hole, Granger's ball appeared obscured by trees, but he managed to hit and drop it in the 17th hole.
