Good start for 'Observer'

Newly-appointed Letlapeng coach, Botshelo 'Observer' Pelokgosi received a good welcome from his charges when they beat Tlokweng United (TU) 2-0 in a First Division South League game at the Siga Ground on Sunday.

This was Letlapeng's first win in four games and Pelokgosi had reason to smile after registering such a feat in his debut as the club coach. Pelokgosi was roped in from Kgabosetso Southern Callies of Moshupa after a fall-out between Letlapeng and Matshidiso 'Chirwa' Moseki. Tlokweng United went into the match in high spirits after a series of wins which saw them jump from the bottom of the log to challenge for the title. But they found the Ramotswa lads in an uncompromising mood and lived to regret it.

Larona Maotwe took advantage of lax defending by Tlokweng United two minutes before half time to heading over goalkeeper Mothusi Obopile. The goal was a real morale booster for Letlapeng though it shocked the visitors who had thought they will go for half time unscathed. From the break, Letlapeng took the game to their opponents with speed and vigour. Within three minutes of the second half, the TU defence found itself swamped once again and a miscommunication between Thuso Diphefo and goalkeeper Obopile resulted in an own goal when the defender tried to make a back pass.
