Give credit where it is due - Maphorisa

The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture Ruth Maphorisa says it is not fair for people to ignore the role of sports bodies such as Botswana Integrated Sports Association (BISA).

Addressing the 2012 BISA Annual General Meeting in Gaborone on Friday, Maphorisa said: "Often when our athletes and national teams are doing well, credit is given to the people who come at the very last".

She said while she recognised the role played by other bodies such as Botswana National Sports Council and Botswana National Olympic Committee, she also observed with concern that credit is not given to schools and BISA in the nurturing and preparing of athletes:
