The Coca-Cola Cup reaches a crucial stage today when the giants of local football enter the fray in the draw to be conducted in Palapye.

The draw will be held opposite the Palapye Corner Bottle Store at the Engen Mall at midday. Over the weekend, three First Division sides were tossed out of the knockout competition by minnows. The biggest casualty was promotion-chasing First Division North log leaders, Mahalapye Hotspurs, who were kicked out by Modipane United.

After a 0-0 draw with the Second Division side, Hotspurs were outwitted 5-4 in the post-match penalty shoot-out by the novices. But it was a different story for another Mahalapye side, BR Highlanders, who beat Amakhosi 3-2 at the Francistown Stadium. Former Premier League club, FC Satmos, visited Bobonong and overcame Peace Makers 3-2. Struggling Premier League side, TASC, survived a scare as they narrowly beat Queens Park Rangers 4-3.
