The first round of the First Division South League has ended with a tight three-way contest for top spot. Jwaneng Galaxy leads the standings, but only on goal difference after garnering 21 points, the same as rivals Mogoditshane Fighters and Uniao Flamengo Santos.

Either Galaxy or Fighters had a chance to pull away last weekend, but failed after they drew 2-2 to tie on points with Santos. Galaxy has a superior goal difference of 15 ahead of Santos (nine) and Fighters (eight).

Santos beat Sharps 2-0 on Saturday as the First Division South race emerges as one of the tightest in recent seasons.
