Fredericks to grace Bosele marathon?

Former king of the sprint and Namibia's Olympic runner Frankie Fredericks is expected to grace this year's Cresta Boesele Phikwe Marathon later this month.

Organisers hope to invite the legendary athlete to the event, which continues to grow in stature. The marathon's Local Organising Committee (LOC) said it was confident that Fredericks would be in the mining town which should motivate the runners.

Meanwhile, the LOC has said it will not tolerate "ambush marketing" in this year's race,  scheduled for June 27.
