Francistown mulls chess centre

A Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC) member, Odirile Sibanda said this during the Francistown chess tournament to select players for the Botswana Games over the weekend. Sibanda said the tournament was further evidence that the chess tournament was growing.
He said this year, there was a new crop of players compared to last year, which shows that chess is growing. But he believes more could be done to grow the sport. "We have a challenge in Francistown, we need to come up with a chess centre to start searching for talent at a young age from primary schools so that chess grows in Botswana.
