FNBB Golf Clinics Succeed In Phikwe

SELEBI PHIKWE: The First National Bank Botswana (FNBB)-sponsored golf clinics which ended on Thursday at the Selebi-Phikwe Golf Club, have been hailed as a success.

The clinics were conducted by Botswana Golf Union (BGU) trainers, Trevor Johwa and Gabriel Tjitjo. At least 40 children participated in the inaugural programme sponsored by the bank for the next three years. A similar programme in Gaborone is in its second year. Children between the ages of five and 13 took part in the Selebi-Phikwe clinics.

Speaking at the launch of the Selebi-Phikwe programme, FNBB Strategic Marketing and Communications Manager, Bomolemo Selaledi said their primary focus is to support sports development by identifying beneficiaries in need of deserving assistance. She said in supporting the programme, FNBB would go a long way in setting a strong youth foundation at grassroots level and ultimately propelling golf to higher levels of professionalism.
