Flying Flamingoes fire coach

FRANCISTOWN: The second-placed First Division North side, Sowa Flamingoes have, in a shocking move, fired their coach, Elias Chinyemba who led them to promotion from the Second Division last season. Despite the setback, the team says it is focused on its mission to gain promotion to the Premiership next season.

Chinyemba told Mmegi Sport that he was fired contrary to the club’s position that he had left by mutual consent. “The immigration department withdrew my work permit from Mega Com, but it doesn’t take a week to secure a work permit for the coach. Those are just excuses,” Chinyemba said.

Club chairperson Bashi Joseph had told this publication that Chinyemba, who was a volunteer, had left by mutual agreement after his work permit was revoked by the Department of Immigration.
