Flamingos fly past Terrors

MAUN: Sua Flamingos have garnered seven points in three matches since the start of the second round of the First Division North a fortnight ago.

The Sua-based club thrashed struggling Maun Terrors 2-1 at the Maun Sports Complex on Saturday. Flamingos started their second round campaign with a 1-1 draw against No Mathata a fortnight ago. Travelling to Maun still celebrating a 1-0 win against FC Tonota, Flamingos found Terrors on mute mode. After a-not-so entertaining first half, Flamingos' striker, Batisani Kgakgamatso, found the back of the net twice in the second half to earn his team maximum points.

Terrors' consolation goal came deep in the referee's optional time through Kenneth Katjizeni. The win takes Flamingos' record to six games without a loss under caretaker coach, Wathusa Dube who took over from the sacked Wetsho Otsile. Flamingos looked for Dube after a 8-2 loss to FC Tonota towards the end of the first round.
Dube said he was happy with his team's performance but expressed misgivings about referee Caslis Jack's handling of the game. He accused the referee of showing his players unnecessary yellow cards when not a single Terrors' man was booked. The previous week, visiting BR Highlanders' coach, Lebitso Ratlou expressed the same sentiments about Jack after his team slumped to a 3-1 defeat against Terrors.
