First Division South league gets under way

After a long break due to a referees boycott and the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals, the First Division South league gets under way tomorrow.

However, there is only one game scheduled, what was supposed to be the leagues opener between, Jwaneng Comets and Security Systems. The game was twice postponed because of the unavailability of a venue and referees respectively. The game will be played at the Galaxy stadium tomorrow.

The first round ended abruptly last year following the conflict between the Botswana Football Association (BFA) and the referees. As a result the first round games are still to be completed and according to league secretary, Sam Keitire, the games will be played on February 25. The second round games will only get under way on March 3.
