FRANCISTOWN: Recently elected First Division North (FDN) chairperson, Mpenzeni Sambandawe has declared his support for Botswana Football (BFA) president, Tebogo Sebego ahead of the BFA elections next month.

Despite recently brushing aside speculations linking him and his committee to Sebego, sighting alienation a bad practice, Sambandawe has backtracked on his words and said he supports Sebego for another term. “At this time in point I am behind Sebego because he remains the only presidential candidate to have addressed us (FDN).

We are now informed of his challenges, his short falls and his plans of taking football forward and we appreciate them,” Sambandawe said. He said he also feels lack of continuity is the reason why football is stagnant. “Since our football association was formed there has never been a president who completes two consecutive terms and I think that also has somewhat affected progress.
