Mogoditshane Fighters' dream of returning to the Premier League moved closer to reality following a convincing 3-2 win over challengers Letlapeng on Saturday.

But it was referee Solomon Piet's poor handling of the match in Mogoditshane that took centre-stage as angry Letlapeng fans bayed for his blood after the match. Piet made some dubious decisions which Letlapeng players, officials and fans felt helped their opponents to the 3-2 win.

However, Fighters should be commended for showing good character right from the start, badly exposing their opponents' defence. It took the Brazilians only 37 minutes to get their Samba when Thatayaone Pitso's bicycle kick beat Mxolisi Sodaba in Letlapeng goal. Letlapeng were to protest later that defender, Boitumelo Mbe had been fouled by the striker prior to scoring the goal.
