MedRescue First Division South champions, Mogoditshane Fighters have said they will use their remaining games against Young Strikers and Kgabosetso to prepare for the 2007-2008 Premier League. Fighters clinched the title on Saturday after a 0-0 draw with Tlokweng United at the Naughty Boys Grounds.

This means that the Mogoditshane side has made a quick return to the Premier League after a year in First Division soccer. At the weekend, Fighters just needed a draw to secure an unassailable 45 points and get automatic promotion to the top flight. However, they were made to huff and puff and at some stage, Naughty Boys threatened to pull an upset. But the former Premier League giants soldiered on and got the vital point. Immediately after the game, there were jubilations in the Fighters' camp as champagne flowed freely.

In the 20 games played, Fighters have only lost 1-0 to Young Strikers in the opening round. "We have been loyal to the team and it paid off," said long serving midfielder, Masego Ntshingane. The former international said that since they were relegated to the First Division, few players have left. An elated Ntshingane attributed their victory to dedication and perseverance. He said it was tough in the First Division, though it is a milestone that they lost only one game. He pointed out that the playing grounds are terrible.  He asserted that they must beef up the squad to survive in the Premier League.
