FRANCISTOWN: The first round of the third edition of Botswana’s most lucrative football cup competition, the Mascom Top 8, kicks off tomorrow in the northern part of the country. This presents an opportunity for supporters in the north who missed the cup action last season as all matches were played in the south to cheer on their teams.

The first match tomorrow will see the most successful team in the northern city, ECCO City Greens, host defending champions Gaborone United in Francistown while on Sunday Nico United welcome struggling Extension Gunners at the Selebi Phikwe Stadium.

Both GU and ECCO have been blowing hot and cold this season therefore it is difficult to predict the outcome of tomorrow’s clash.
