Former Botswana Judo Federation (BJF) president, Willie Paulsen has denied he runs a parallel body after taking some judokas not affiliated to the federation for competition in South Africa.

Paulsen said he did not find the need to seek permission from Botswana Judo Federation (BJF) to send his athletes to the South African Open International Judo Tournament. The competition was held at Carnival City, Johannesburg in South Africa from June 26 to July 2.

Paulsen sent a group of judokas aged between seven and 12 to the event, and he said they are not associated with BJF.  The parents of the judokas sponsored the trip.
