Gaborone United (GU) officials have denied that their coach, Jethro 'Shemi' Hunidzarira has resigned. Hunidzarira has been under pressure from supporters because of poor results but GU officials have said they have confidence in him.

On Tuesday, the coach and his assistants took the team through its paces while officials held an emergency meeting with the supporters at the training ground.

Some of the supporters claimed that  Hunidzarira who joined GU this season would be in charge for the last  time when they play against  Nico United this weekend.  However, GU spokesman Atamelang Thage has dismissed reports that the coach is resigning because of pressure from supporters. He admitted that the supporters do not want the coach but the officials support him. "We have been given a mandate to run this team.  We are trying to iron our differences with the supporters.  We are not saying we are happy with the coach but he has not played enough games to be judged," he said.  He added that they have been disturbed by false reports about the club.
