ECCO out to halt Chiefs' juggernaut

FRANCISTOWN: ECCO City Greens will have one thing on mind when they face log leaders, Mochudi Centre Chiefs in Francistown tomorrow: to halt the seemingly unstoppable juggernaut.

Meetings between the two are never short of drama and tomorrow is expected to be no exception.
Chiefs have been relentless in their march towards their second league title, beginning with that opening day's comprehensive 5-2 destruction of Township Rollers.  Chiefs have 44 points, eight ahead of second placed BMC and there are no signs of slowing down. Last weekend, Chiefs eased past Uniao Flamengo Santos 3-1.

On the other hand ECCO trail Chiefs by a massive 19 points, as they lie sixth with 25 points. Although ECCO had shown signs of improvement of late, the Francistown side suffered a major setback when they lost to BMC last weekend.  The absence of Mandlaenkosi 'Sukunyetsa' Sibanda might have a telling effect on the team in tomorrow's encounter. Sibanda used to relish Chiefs encounters, but has since switched to 'meat' brothers, BMC. ECCO team manager, Mothobi Mothobi said they have thoroughly prepared for the second leg of the league.  "We have been preparing since we resumed work on January 10 in order to improve our fitness. We are going to prepare for Chiefs just like we prepare for any other team," Mothobi said.
