ECCO avoids mistakes in hiring coach

Former national champions, ECCO City Greens have said they are not going to repeat past mistakes when they recruit a new coach to replace Raphael Phiri. Club spokesperson, Unabatsho Mathalaza said yesterday that they have made many mistakes in the past when hiriing a coach and this time, they are wiser.

Mamoja Diskie have been without a permanent coach after parting ways with Raphael Phiri early this year because of poor performances. "We placed an advert for the post and I can reveal that there are interested parties who have responded to the advert," he said.

"We might be taking long to hire a coach now and it might have an effect on our quest to win the league but we do not want to hire in desperation. We made a mistake after Barry Daka left because we felt desperate to find a replacement," he said. He added that they are not in a hurry and they will take time to assess the candidates thoroughly to avoid regrets.
