Former Botswana Athletics Association (BAA) spokesman, Glody Dube, has threatened to take legal action against the author of a letter casting aspersions on his academic ability.

Dube said what is alleged in the letter was done with a clear intention of defaming him. He said he would take the letter to his lawyer to seek legal advice. "I got a distinction in my final examinations because I was working hard not because I copied," he said. Dube did not understand why the writer targeted him when all BAA officials have been kicked out.

"I would understand if he targeted me if I had remained in the committee or something like that," he said. The alleged writer refused to shed light on the letter saying he did not know anything about it. The letter that is doing the rounds through email is addressed to the Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime (DCEC). The author wants DCEC to probe how Dube, teacher by profession got his qualification. "I was informed that (by other sources and himself) Glody Dube was accepted at Tlokweng College of Education in a corrupt manner and his exit was also corrupt.
