Double victory for Branch

Desert Race 2012 motocross champion, Ross Branch, heads off to the United States (US) early next month buoyed by his recent successes that includes his Southern Africa Motocross Challenge title in Harare, Zimbabwe on Sunday.

Shortly after winning the Toyota Kalahari 1000 kilometre Desert Race last week, Branch and his protg Dartagnan Lobjoit set off for Harare where they took part in the newly introduced regional challenge.The inaugural southern challenge consisted of three heats, each lasting 20 minutes.

After some good racing, Branch finished first in the 450cc open class and Lobjoit finished third in the 250cc class.
"We held the Botswana flag high and did our country proud," Branch told Mmegi Sport.The southern challenge title came after another outstanding run in the Desert Race. Branch started day one well, managing to open with a 15 minute lead.
