Dinoko defies odds in Coke Cup

Naughty Boys have risen to the occasion in the Coca-Cola Cup despite a disastrous season that has virtually guaranteed relegation from the be MOBILE Premier League.

Like last year when they bowed out in the semis, the Tlokweng side is once again enjoying a good run in the knock-out competition. Dinoko are now in the quarter-finals after eliminating TASC 3-2 in the round of 32. Their hitman, Ringo Rankgomo was in his element during the game against TAFIC, scoring a brace in the process. Naughty Boys' run in the Coca-Cola Cup is a far cry from their performance in the Premier League where they prop the standings with only two wins. After eliminating TAFIC, the Tlokweng side now face Mogoditshane Fighters tomorrow in the quarter- finals in Lobatse tomorrow.
Naughty Boys' senior player, Lolo Mosojane said they take each game as it comes in the cup competition.  He said the players considered that they have performed poorly in the league and their only consolation could come in the Coca-Cola Cup.  Mosojane said they felt that they should make money in the Coca-Cola tournament so that if they relegate to the First Division, they would have something to fall back on. Their intention is to go as far as the finals. Mosojane blames the management for their poor performance in the league. He said the officials blundered by firing coaches who guided the team from the First Division to the Premier League. He said every coach has his own style.   "The problem was with changing coaches.  You do not replace a coach who is delivering," said Mosojane, who joined Naughty Boys at the beginning of the season from Township Rollers.

He stated that the team should never have replaced former coach, Moeteledi Chaenda with Pio Paul. He said Chaenda performed very well by propelling the team to the Premier League and reaching the Coca-Cola semi-finals last year.  He said Paul came with his own strategy and this might have disrupted the team's rhythm. Chaenda has since re-joined the Tlokweng side.
