Softball players in the national team preparing for the Zone VI championships have been hit by diarrhoea from suspected food poisoning. The players have been on a training camp at the Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC) athletes' village. The teams are scheduled to leave for South Africa for the Zone VI tournament today. However, it is doubtful whether coach of the men's team, Sthando Kgosiyang will travel. The players have recovered but Kgosiyang had not recovered by the time of going to press.

By yesterday, he was still at the Gaborone Private Hospital (GPH) for more check-ups. He expressed hope that he will travel with the team. Though it was clear that he was not well, he put a brave face. He said he fell sick after eating on Sunday. Because he was not at training from Monday until yesterday, he said this might affect his team' s preparations, as there are some things that he would have loved to do before going to South Africa.
