Desperate Premier League turns to Btv

Botswana Premier League (BPL) has approached public broadcaster, Botswana Television (Btv) to air this weekend's Mascom Top 8 matches.

The Premier League has been working tirelessly to tie up a long-term broadcasting deal for Premier League matches since the beginning of the season in order to meet the contractual obligation with the sponsors.  be MOBILE sponsors the league, while their competitors, Mascom fund the Top 8 competition.

Following the court's decision to confirm the termination of RP Productions' contract, BPL wasted no time and entered into negotiations with South African broadcast channel, Supersport. The channel recently aired five matches on a trial basis. The first was a be MOBILE Premier League match between BR Highlanders and Miscellaneous. They also showed all the first leg Mascom Top 8 quarterfinals.
