Depleted wells drown UB Giants

A depleted Wells overcame a stubborn UB Giants 5-3 in an Estate Construction Softball League match played in Gaborone on Saturday.

Wells, who were without Gaothabogwe Gadifele, James Matoroke, Itumeleng Radinaane, Olebile Letsebe, Lesedi Mokgopong, Walter Levers, got off to a good start, getting two scores in the opening inning.

Their early breakthrough came through Aobakwe Boile who capitalised on a UB Giants' catcher's failure to hold onto a thrown ball. Boile had initially made an advance off a bunt. A few minutes later, Pelontle Kamodi added the second for Wells after another mistake by the same catcher. The start of the second inning was kept dead even through both halves, as both defences kept their bases tight. Giants' batters were consecutively struck out, despite many accurate judgements.
