Defeat leaves Zebras with mountain to climb

The Zebras' 2014 World Cup campaign got off to the worst possible start with a 2-0 defeat away to the Central African Republic on a bleak weekend for Southern African football.

Coach, Stanley Tshosane and his charges know that victory over South Africa's Bafana Bafana this Saturday is no longer an option if they are to fix the early damage. The Zebras will draw solace in that Bafana Bafana's languid form continued with a drab 1-1 draw against Ethiopia as their winless run piled to 10games.

The clash between the two at the UB Stadium has therefore assumed new importance, as either side cannot afford to drop points. South Africa might touch down in Gaborone without a coach following reports that Pitso Mosimane's job is on the line.
