Darkness Saves Diphatsa

MOGODITSHANE: Diphatsa men's volleyball side was saved from looming defeat on Saturday when their match against Police was stopped due to darkness.

Though they started the game well and were tipped to win, they lost momentum and were headed for a loss at stoppage time. Their problems started in the second set when they failed to combine after winning the first set. Diphatsa is one of the teams tipped to win the league title. They have collected 28 points from 10 outings.

Yesterday's game started on a high note with Diphatsa showing early signs that they will emerge victorious. However, they lost the plot in the second set. They tried to come back in the third set but time was not on their side. When the lights were switched on Diphatsa players started complaining about their sharpness saying they were blinded. Police players said they had no problem with the lights and the game should proceed. Police even offered their hall for the continuation of the game. But the SSG hall offer was not accepted as it is said to be also having the same problem of poor lighting. The match between Spiking Stars and Kalavango was also stopped because of lights. After a long argument, the league organisers resolved that the game should not be continued.
