The national cricket squad, playing as Botswana Cricket Association XI will further sharpen their skills when they play Gaborone Cricket Club (GCC) XI on Sunday. The first ball will be bowled at 1:00 pm.

The cricket squad is preparing for the World Cup qualifiers to be played in South Africa.  Coach, Arjun Menon said the national squad has not been finalised hence the side to face GCC XI is known as the BCA XI. He further said that since it is a friendly match, he has called up exciting young players from the Under-19, to see how they adapt at senior level.

The GCC XI has included players from teams participating in the GCC league. The team consists of good cricketers and Menon hopes that they will offer a tough test. GCC secretary Ravi Anbara said they hope the friendly match will give the training squad more practice as they prepare for the qualifiers. Anbara said the challenge is that the GCC league and Lobatse T20 tournaments are currently on, which means that they cannot assemble the strongest squad.
