Stung by an opening day defeat to Kuwait in the ongoing International Cricket Council (ICC) Division Seven League, Botswana bounced back admirably to register convincing back-to-back victories over Japan and Germany.

The wins ensure that Botswana stay in contention for promotion to Division Six heading into yesterday's game against Norway in Lobatse.

Botswana has been on a slide in the last two years, relegating from Division Five to Six and then to Seven. The national side is fighting to climb the ladder and claim its place among emerging associate nations. On the evidence of their display on Wednesday against Germany, they are firmly on course to move a tier up.
